Visions of War

I choose the picture where people were being forced from their homes by German soldiers.

Dear Journal

My family and i got shoved out of our home today, they made us walk for miles and miles until we got to the concentration camp. While we were walking my little sister stumbled mum furiously whispered to me to help her up quickly so they wouldn’t see, I didn’t understand but i did it any way. It was horrible they followed us everywhere and they had us do large amounts of chores, and they gave us no food it was 300 grains of rice for 7 people. They took us to bed at sunset and we had to get up at sunrise. This was hard and if you didn’t get up they shot you. Our bodies quickly got used to the change. Our bodies grew thin and sinewy due to the hard work and we haven’t had showers for over 2 months now and our clothes are all crusty. There are around 20 of us here the others were shot or died of some illness. I have to keep you hidden diary, you are my only friend now that they took my sister and my parents are on the other side of camp and i am not allowed to see them. i have to go now diary they are coming and if your found i would be killed.

Courtney,

You have posted an insightful poem and journal entry. However, you need to work on getting the rest of your posts published so that you are up to date with the homework.

By now, you should have your war notes, at least one book reflection and we have started poetry circles (although you were away for the start of this so you will not have done any work for this element yet).

For the posts that you already have published, ensure that you proof-read and edit carefully to eliminate silly errors. For example, not using capitals, etc.

I will check again on Thursday morning to see how close you are to having your blog up to date.

On a final note, if you are taking the initiative in giving yourself a spelling list each week (I noticed your top post is a vocab list) that is an excellent idea and I am very impressed :)
